No Sweatt! A State
Classic Champion Crowned!
Congratulations
to Bill Sweatt, this years 2007 State Classic Champion at Clear Lake.
Bill was able to come from behind on day 2 with a huge 5 fish limit
that weighed in at 23.43 lbs to go with a day 1 weight of 16.69 for
2 day total of 40.12 lbs winning by more then 3 pound. “It was
a crazy 3 days for me for sure. Going from pre-fishing in the storm
Friday without getting touched and then losing 2 expensive rod and reel
combos to winning the tourney was kind of a story book ending. It was
especially cool because the family was there to keep me focused and
calm after a crappy day on Friday” Great job Bill! Coming in 2nd
place was actually 2 guys, Matt Cahill and Kevin Marcheschi tied with
a great limit of fish that both weighed in at 36.95 lbs each. These
two great anglers with the same exact weight, who would of thought?
Great job to both of you! In 4th place was Steve Wilson fishing this
event as a non-member and kicking butt. Steve had a total weight of
34.35 lbs. 5th place was a new member this year and a rookie terror
all year, Anthony Daffany with a solid limit of 32.58 lbs. 6th Place
went to another rookie this year who fished like a seasoned pro, Jon
Bird with a nice limit of 32.57 lbs. 7th place was Terry Yeh with a
great limit of 30.82 lbs. 8th place goes to BnT delta region master,
Mitch Teman with a limit of 29.92 lbs. 9th place went to the current
leader in the race for AOY, Dave Sternitzke with a limit of 29.17 lbs.
10th place goes to the come back angler of the year and our president
Rich Caro with a weight of 28.22 lbs. And last in the money from the
BnT Shasta Region in 11th place with 26.82 lbs. big Tim Zandbergen.
Congrats to all the top finishers.
This
has to be one of the best kickboat tournaments of all time! Let's recap,
1st we were granted a special permit from the Fish and Game to transport
our fish so we didn’t all have to stay in one area, Thank you
DFG and Richie. “Sam from the Bassmasters release boat checking
in to say you guys did an awesome job with your fish. It's nice to work
with people who give a hoot. 2nd We had Andrew and Jack from the BASS
Federation Nation helping with the weigh-in and cooking everyone a huge
BBQ Saturday that was off the hook! 3rd We had the group camp site at
state park with a huge camp fire for us all to hang out around. 4th
we had one of the greatest raffles of all time with lots of high dollar
prizes and a special kids raffle that I know everyone enjoyed watching.
And 5th we had a hell of a time catching bass all weekend! I would like
to thank everyone that helped out this year. It was more then just the
officers working but lots of others just helping out, you guys rock.
Next
up is the last tournament of the year and boy do we have an AOY race!
Dave Sternitzke holds a 2 point lead over red hot Bill Sweatt and a
7 point lead over Carson Riley. It should be fun to watch these 3 battle
on Blue lakes November 3rd
