Ayers & Kevin Macheschi Claim Victory at Lake Sonoma
Lake Sonoma's Yorty Creek was our 6th stop of the Sonoma County Belly
Boat Bass Club tour of northern California. We had 34 of California's
best float tube angler's sign in for what would prove to be one of the
most challenging night tournament's to date. With the 17 team's working
together to try and catch 5 keeper's it was the two teams of Mike Ayers
& Kevin Marcheschi and Dominic Doans & Travis Tarver who were
able to figure it out.
Ayer's and Marcheschi did their homework and came out on top of the
field with a 1st place win.
They weighed in a limit of bass that went 14.85. They did this with
frog's, Jig's and drop shoting.
Second place went to the team of Dominic Doans and Travis Tarver as
they weighed in 5 fish for 10.80. The third place team was Jon Hatfeild
and Rolando Villanueva with 3 fish that went 10.48 and Rolando had the
winning Big Toad of 6.44. All they needed was to round out there limit
and they might have went home with a win. Rounding out the money spot's
was the fourth place team of John Graves and Terry Yeh as they caught
4 fish for 9.49.
Late in the evening we had a pack of coyote's laughing at us and a few
of our member's were laughing back at them. This was a fun evening of
fishing as the SCBBBC came out and did what we do best. Thanks to the
officer's and Rebecca for helping to make this evening a smooth one.
I would also like to welcome our newest member, Travis Tarver is now
one of the 46 paid club member's, WOW. More history in the making as
we're only 4 angler's away from becoming a 50 member club. Is it the
gas price's or is it the competition? Maybe it's the club's format and
rich history that keep's angler's coming. What ever it is I'm glad to
be part of it and I hope to enjoy many more year's of fishing with all
these float tuber's and kick boater's.
