2008 Redwood Empire
Food Drive Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, Ca
- Members of the Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club collected
more the 670 cans of food for their local food bank in 2008. "That
not counting the bags of food", Scbbbc's Rich Caro told BASS Times.
"We've got bags and bags of soft food, such as pasta and cake mixes."
Army Corps of Engineers Lake Sonoma Water Fair
Ca. – Families are invited to join in on free fun and festivities
at the first annual Water Resources Fair June 10 at the Milt Brandt
Visitor Center/ Don Clausen Fish Hatchery at Lake Sonoma. From
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be informational booths and presentations
on topics such as boat and water safety, fish biology identification,
bass fishing, water quality and conservation. Sponsored by the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, the festival coincides with “Free Fishing
Day” in the state of California where no fishing licenses will
be required for residents 16 years of age or older.
Thanks to every one that came out to the Lake Sonoma Water Fair. This
looks to be some thing that will be a annual event for the future. This
helped our relationship with the Army Corps of Engineers as a B.A.S.S.
Federation Nation Club. It was the first time I have seen Float tubes
and Kick-boats on display for the public in the way we displayed our
fully rigged tournament ready crafts.
2004 Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa
In 2004 the club raised a total of over $1600 for the
Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa! In addition we gathered
in the neighborhood of 200 lbs of canned goods. Thank you to all the
members, friends and family for their contributions!
2003 Valley of the Moon Children's Home Fundraiser
In September 2003, the club held a fundraiser for the Valley
of the Moon Children's Home. Members raised over $950 while fishing
in a team event at Lake Berryessa.
2003 Spring Lake Cleanup
On September 13, 2003, several club members got together to
do a trash pick-up at
Spring Lake. Some of the folks even worked out of their kickboats
to pick up garbage that had accumulated along the tules and in spots
inaccessible from shore. Thanks to all who helped out - Jeff Andress,
Bill Sweatt, Dave Sternitzke, William Perez, Deren Kozenko, Russ Stansbury
and Andy Parsons. Dave made the day memorable by landing the 10 lb 11
oz bass pictured above in the early morning hours on an MS Slammer swimbait.
This was Dave's "personal best" thus far in his bass fishing
2002 Make-A-Wish Foundation Tournament

held a tournament at Spring Lake in support of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation. Largely through the efforts of organizer Rich Caro (pictured
above), the event raised $3,276.00. Deren Kozenko was the top money-raiser,
bringing in an even $800.00, while William Perez rounded up an amazing
82 donors. To all of the 21 anglers who participated - thank you!
On February 2, 2002, members of the Sonoma County Belly Boat
Bass Club gathered one foggy Saturday morning at Fountaingrove Lake
to conduct a cleanup. Many folks helped, including the Bogges &
Sweatt families, William Perez, Travis Tarver, Todd Iwamoto, Andrew
Wilber, Matt & Rich Caro, Eric Keith, and Andy Parsons. Thanks to
all for their hard work & a successful cleanup.
