Army Corps of Engineers Lake Sonoma Water Fair

SONOMA,
Ca. – Families are invited to join in on free fun and festivities
at the first annual Water Resources Fair June 10 at the Milt Brandt
Visitor Center/ Don Clausen Fish Hatchery at Lake Sonoma. From
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be informational booths and presentations
on topics such as boat and water safety, fish biology identification,
bass fishing, water quality and conservation. Sponsored by the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, the festival coincides with “Free Fishing
Day” in the state of California where no fishing licenses will
be required for residents 16 years of age or older.
Thanks to every one that came out to the Lake Sonoma Water Fair. This
looks to be some thing that will be a annual event for the future. This
helped our relationship with the Army Corps of Engineers as a B.A.S.S.
Federation Nation Club. It was the first time I have seen Float tubes
and Kick-boats on display for the public in the way we displayed our
fully rigged tournament ready crafts.

2003 Spring Lake Cleanup

On September 13, 2003, several club members got together to
do a trash pick-up at
Spring Lake. Some of the folks even worked out of their kickboats
to pick up garbage that had accumulated along the tules and in spots
inaccessible from shore. Thanks to all who helped out - Jeff Andress,
Bill Sweatt, Dave Sternitzke, William Perez, Deren Kozenko, Russ Stansbury
and Andy Parsons. Dave made the day memorable by landing the 10 lb 11
oz bass pictured above in the early morning hours on an MS Slammer swimbait.
This was Dave's "personal best" thus far in his bass fishing
career.
